The Workshop Intraoperative and therapeutic uses of radioactivity are common. Intraoperative and intratherapy imaging are not. This workshop focuses on intraoperative and intratherapy molecular imaging, particularly intraoperative and intratherapy emission and fluorescence imaging. The workshop is designed to bring expert users of intraoperative and intratherapy imaging together with developers of such technologies. Most speakers will be experienced users (surgeons, radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians). The state of intraoperative and intratherapy imaging will be reviewed. Directions for research in intraoperative and intratherapy imaging technologies and protocols will be explored. Sentinel lymph node biopsy (lung, breast, prostate, gastric, head & neck, ...), parathyroidectomy, hepatic malignancy therapy, localization of colorectal cancer, brain tumor margin delineation, and occult lesion localization are examples of intraoperative procedures in which imaging, including emission imaging, has been investigated. In-beam positron emission tomography in proton therapy is an example of intratherapy emission imaging. Each of these topics will be addressed by a speaker or speakers at this workshop. ====================================
